I bought this to utilize with my current dryer outlet as a quicker charging option. I also bought an extension cord and a Splitvolt splitter. The laundry room, which is across the garage from where I park my 2021 Nissan Leaf, is where I have my outlet. It's working perfectly so far; I'm receiving a full 24 amps and a charge time of about 5.5 kw. Both the charger and the splitter are of the highest caliber. I adore the Splitvolt Splitter's readout, which provides you with precise information about the status and quantity of electricity drawn. It has its own breaker and only permits 24 amps, so it's also a fantastic extra layer of security. If you are using a regular dryer outlet with a maximum 30 amps, I would strongly suggest this in addition to the charger. The charger functions as intended. The automobile begins to charge as soon as you plug it in. Fortunately, I haven't yet triggered any of the fault warning lights on it. It has a few lights on it, including power and charging. The cable has a slight overhang.

I also purchased a Splitvolt dryer switch in addition to this charger. My Rivian R1T now has the ideal charging solution thanks to the combination of the two. Using a 110V outlet in my garage was my only alternative choice for charging short of shelling out hundreds of dollars for an installation-inclusive level 2 charger. My speed when using the 110V outlet was only 1-2 mi/h. Even though the switch is plugged into a 30 amp dryer outlet, I configured the charging rate to 24 amps to make the 40 amp charger compatible. My charge rate went up to 11–12 mi/hr as a result. I can conveniently carry the charger with me wherever I go because it comes with a lovely storage bag. I can reach the vehicle from the dryer outlet with plenty of room thanks to the 26-foot line, and the 40A charging capability provides me the flexibility to eventually upgrade to a dedicated circuit for my charging solution. Any owner of an EV should do this, in my opinion!

This charger has been with me for about a month. Excellent for my EV6. I looked through a number of options and needed a 40 amp charger that fit into a NEMA 14–50 and didn't require any bother or apps. All I wanted was to be able to charge my automobile by plugging it in. This charges at 9.6 kW on a 50 amp breaker at 240 volts and functions flawlessly. Although I would have preferred a slightly longer plug cord, I can understand given its thickness. Outstanding level 2 charger. Update: I purchased a different brand charger with a little longer plug chord for my sister, who also purchased a Kia EV6. It would not charge and would display an error once she put it in. She received the exact same Splitvolt charger model that I purchased, and it functions flawlessly. If all you want is a dependable charger and not an app or anything else, I highly recommend this!
